At Zohar, production isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. Since 1987, we’ve been turning ambitious creative visions into seamless realities, with heart, precision, and a relentless passion for excellence.

Founded by Isabelle Tanugi, a French-Tunisian producer with a deep love for storytelling and aesthetics, Zohar was born out of a desire to build a production company that could match European finesse with global ambition. The spark? A Schweppes film directed by Chico Bialas. Then came Égoïste for Chanel — a cinematic milestone that opened international doors and set the tone for everything that followed.

In the early ’90s, Carlos Paiva, a Brazilian with a U.S. production background, joined Isabelle, adding cross-continental agility to the company’s DNA. In 1997, Roberto Bakker, the legendary Dutch producer, brought his sharp eye and global experience to Zohar’s core. Fernanda Rossi came on board in the early 2010s, reinforcing our ability to manage high-stakes, large-scale productions with creativity and composure.

Most recently, Ramona Bakker joined the leadership team to steer Zohar’s expansion into series and feature films, bringing a rich background in narrative content and international co-productions.

From Égoïste to epic campaigns with directors like John Woo, Tarsem, Jake Scott, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Johan Renck, and Louis Leterrier, Zohar has become synonymous with high-end, complex productions that don’t just look good — they feel right.
